This photo survey/essay on East 14th Street examines what was, in 1986, a new Asian American neighborhood in Oakland. Asian American businesses and residents began to move into the area in the 1970s, especially with the arrival of regufees from SE Asian after 1975. A concurrent inmovement of Latinos occurred at the same time and has continued to the present.
